curlr open source project
I've created curlr an open source project at Google.
There's no code there yet, and won't be until I've got the current generated api and the higher level curlr api ready for beta.
Because of the announcement by Google about it's code hosting beta, it seemed to me that it might be a more apropriate host for web api code. As a plus, there aren't many projects yet, so the project will be less obsure perhaps than it might be at SourceForge. And as I'm not putting in code yet, I'm not worried if the features are unstable or incomplete.
To create a project you need a gmail account, and you can only get a gmail account if you know some else who has one. This seems to me to be a slightly skewed view of open access, though I understand why they've taken that approach. So eventually, after I had discovered that fact and begged for an account, I was able to create the project.
As a result I have an unwanted gmail account, a Google account (not the same thing), and a project account. On the plus side, they're all free, unless you factor in the cost time of managing these things.
